Studio OverviewHardlight are part of SEGA Networks Inc., a division of SEGA Networks Co., Ltd.  SEGA Networks Co., Ltd. was established in July 2012 as a division of Tokyo-based SEGA Corporation, focused on publishing games for mobile and tablet devices based on SEGA’s most iconic brands in addition to the development of new intellectual property. Hardlight are best known for their endless runner Sonic Dash franchise whilst also bringing the beloved SEGA Arcade classic Crazy Taxi to the mobile arena. The studio is currently hard at work on an ambitious dark fantasy 4X project, bringing an existing Japanese IP to western audiences. We also have a leading benefits package to boot along with a collaborative and flexible working environment that people enjoy being a part of.ResponsibilitiesThe Junior Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the operation and administration of the internal networks, servers, e-mail and network security systems used by Hardlight. Working as part of the Operations team, this role will work alongside the Development teams to facilitate & support their development of video games. They will also work closely to with SEGA Europe Ltd.’s Live Operations Monitoring team to ensure we are in line with SEGA global policies.

  • Administration and maintenance of company internal systems
  • Administration of email for the studio
  • To maintain PC and Server health checks by performing routine maintenance/upgrades as and when required
  • Provide 1st line Technical Support to the Studio Development Team and offsite contractors (e.g. VPN access), logging and escalating where applicable
  • Install, configure and support studio workstations
  • Install, configure and support studio network hardware and software.
  • Prepare for the arrival of new joiners, ensuring all IT hardware and software requirements are in place
  • Provide support for printers, scanners, projectors and other peripheral equipment
  • Assemble, install and deploy PCs and user hardware
  • Distribute and install computer peripherals
  • Diagnose hardware, software and operational problems, taking remedial action independently where possible, escalating where applicable
  • Maintain a database of studio assets
  • Manage and maintain provision of studio software, including renewals
  • Provide user administration for Windows Active Directory and Exchange and Outlook in Exchange server environment
  • Liaise with suppliers to acquire studio equipment  
  • Ad-hoc duties as required
  • Ad-hoc projects as requested by Hardlight management team
