The main goal of this role will be to help maximise profit through the accurate and quick PL base analysis by using various internal data streams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly financial performance review (working with the Finance team on ‘Getsuji’    documents/process);
  • Financial Accounts / Management Accounts

Creating and reviewing figures in line with SGC requirements (Parent company in Japan)O  Manage the reconciliation process between financial accounting and P&L to create Management accounting P&L and reporting to parent company 

  • Business Planning / Modelling

O SEGA Europe business plan modelling, taking responsibility for impact analysis and communication when changes to schedules, orders, pricing, retail deals, costs etc. occurO Product P&L modelling, margin analysis, improvement recommendations, breakeven analysis, and risk identificationO Responsible for development cost analysis and reporting with SEGA Studios and PD/QA/Localization team for Getsuji and general reporting. Risk identification and impact analysis if products slip or incur extra costsO Responsible for confirming manufacturing costs with Operations for Getsuji and general reportingO The pivotal person responsible for the ‘bigger picture’ of the business plan, working with sales to continually look at opportunities based on revenue, cost, manufacturing and royalty modelsO Produce analysis and reports on a regular and adhoc basis, always looking for improvements in how information is managed and communicatedO Regularly review full year results, based on business plan and actual to date 

  • Work closely with the Studios, Publishing, PD and Marketing team to produce product P&Ls which will be used for the internal new title approval process (inline process)
  • Support SGC to create Royalty report to Licensors (Collect sales information of Licensed product in SOE business)
  • Support cash flow forecast creation (financial to management accounting views)
  • Be the point of contact for SGC for information required, reports and business plans
  • Responsible for researching and producing financial (management accounting level) information required for SOE from SGC
  • Manage the reporting variances between the SGC Official BP and the SOE internal BP
  • Drafting formats for the annual business plan, mid-term plan, and cash flow forecast


  • Ability to prioritise and manage time
  • Strong excel modelling skills with accuracy (VBA skill is preferable)
  • Understanding of P/L, B/S, and C/F statements
  • Understanding of International GAAP and highly motivated to learn Japanese GAAP
  • Experience of working with and analysing financial data
  • High attention to detail
  • Fluent English and Japanese (Spoken and written) skill
  • Openness to understand different cultures
  • Knowledge and interest in the video games industry
